D. Brotherhood of Evil.

“You are an idealist, little Master of the Universe, and I can respect that. But alas, kindness and compassion are no longer sufficient to make any real change. No, in a world this corrupt and violent, it is he who sinks lowest who decides its fate.”

Founded on the belief that mankind cannot be trusted with its own destiny, the Brotherhood of Evil is a criminal organization dedicated to achieving total world domination. Since its inception over ten years ago, the Brotherhood has been linked to a number of incidents around the globe; including the assassination of Bialyian Prime Minister Amin Harjavti and the CERN antimatter theft of 2013. Based on intel collected by Interpol and A.R.G.U.S., the Brotherhood’s main headquarters is believed to be somewhere in the south of France, but thus far no one has had any luck narrowing down its exact location. Because of its policy of eliminated potential threats before they imminent threats, the Brotherhood has recently decided that one of its next primary objectives should be the extermination of the Crystal Gems.

D1. The Brain.

“I’m afraid in this day and age, Evil is the only logical choice.”

Leader and founder of the Brotherhood of Evil, The Brain is a former French scientist who many years ago erased all evidence of his existence and placed his brain within a robotic body so that he would be forever free to work and think without physical or legal limitations. Because of this, very little is known about his history and true motives for forming the Brotherhood. However, what we do know is that he is the world’s leading expert on astrophysics, mechanical engineering, biochemical engineering, neuroscience, and behavioral psychology. Additionally, we know that the Brain firmly believes that the ends always justify the means, which is why he feels np remorse for any of the deplorable actions he or his colleagues have committed in the name of his ultimate goal.

D2. Monsieur Mallah.

“Diplomacy is only useful in fair weather. As soon as it starts to rain, the pacifists all drown.”

The perfect balance of brains and brawn, Monsieur Mallah is a super intelligent gorilla who serves as the Brain’s loyal bodyguard and second-in-command. Although his exact origins are shrouded in mystery, Mallah is believed to be the product of one of the Brain’s experiments from before he erased his identity. Despite not being human, Mallah is apparently a great admirer of Charles de Gaulle, whom he quotes frequently. In battle, Mallah’s weapon of choice is a rotary cannon designed specifically for his use.

D3. Laura De Mille / Madame Rouge.

“Twisted is such an ugly word. Accurate of course, but still not very flattering.”

Originally a French stage actress, Laura De Mille was recruited by the Brain after a car accident severely scarred her face, thus ending her career. In exchange for an experimental surgery that could restore her beauty, the Brain asked only that Laura swear undying loyalty to him and the Brotherhood of Evil; having no other options, she agreed without so much as a second thought. Since then, Ms. De Mille, now known as Madame Rouge, has become one of the Brain’s top operatives; specializing in espionage and assassination. Several years ago, as a reward for her already impressive service record, the Brain had Madame Rouge injected with an experimental serum, which granted her the powers of shapeshifting and elasticity; making her even more dangerous than she already was.

D4. General Heinrich Zahl.

“I always knew I was destined to serve under he who would rule the world. I’m just surprised he turned out to be French.”

Before rising to the rank of general, Heinrich Zahl was a Nazi U-boat captain who used his connections within the infamous Thule Society to escape to South America just before the fall of the Third Reich. While living under an alias in Buenos Aires, Zahl became friends with a local scientist, whom he later deceived into creating a potion that lets him temporarily restore his youth. After using this potion to extend his life into the 21st Century, Zahl was approached by the Brain, who offered him a chance to relive glory days by joining the Brotherhood of Evil. Since them Zahl has been the Brain’s top strategic advisor, as well as the supreme commander of his Stormtrooper army.

D5. Sven Larsen / Omni-Man.

“Morality? What care I for morality? It was society’s narrow-minded morality that got me fired in the first place. So honestly, who needs it?”

Dr. Sven Larsen is Swedish scientist who was fired from Stockholm University after an unauthorized genetics experiment claimed the lives of twelve students. A warrant was sent out for his arrest, but Dr. Larsen disappeared before the local authorities could bring him in. He fell off the grid for about eleven years until he finally resurfaced as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil. Apparently, Larsen began experimenting on himself during his years underground, because he now possesses the ability to transform himself into any animal, plant or mineral he can think of.

D6. The Stormtroopers.

“Heil Brain!”

Modeled after the Nazi soldiers who share their name, the Stormtroopers are the Brain’s private army of cybernetic warriors. In addition to being bullet, bomb, and rustproof, each Stormtrooper is equipped with an array of deadly weapons; including but not limited to autocannons, flamethrowers, and teargas grenade launchers. It is rumored that their designs were suggested to the Brain by General Zahl.

E. Rogues.

“Central City was fun while it lasted, but now there’s a new frontier that’s calling our names. Beach City. That’s where all the big stuff’s gonna be happening from now on. I can feel it in my bones.”

After the Flash showed up and started doing his superhero shtick, most of Central City’s low-level criminals either skipped town or went legit; however, one brave band of miscreants stood their ground and stepped up their game in order become the legendary team of super criminals known simply as the Rogues. Using weapons and technology stolen from S.T.A.R. Labs, the Rogues are able to go toe to toe with even the toughest costumed do-gooder; with the possible exception of the big guy from Metropolis. At any rate, although they used to mainly stick to their hometown of Central City, the Rogues have recently moved their base of operations to Beach City; viewing the newly opened S.T.A.R. Labs Facility and the newly discovered Gem Temple as potential goldmines.

E1. Leonard Snart / Captain Cold.

“There she is boys. Beach City. A big fat goose just waiting to be plucked.”

Calm, collected, and a master strategist, Leonard ‘Captain Cold’ Snart is the de facto leader of this motley band of outlaws. Despite being a criminal, Snart follows a personal code of honor, which strictly forbids killing for the sake of killing. In battle, Snart’s signature weapon is a device he calls a Cold Gun, which allows him to freeze objects to absolute zero.

E2. Mick Rory / Heat Wave.

“Good food, good people, and a boardwalk that’s just beggin’ to go up in flames. Hot damn! I love this town!”

Brash, short-tempered, and a total pyromaniac, Mick ‘Heat Wave’ Rory is Snart’s loyal but emotionally unstable second-in-command. Despite Rory’s erratic and sociopathic behavior, Snart keeps him around because he is an essential component in maintaining the balance of power within the group; also he worries what Rory might do if left to his own devices. In battle, Rory’s signature weapon is a special miniaturized flamethrower, which he calls a Heat Gun; for obvious reasons.

E3. Mark Mardon / Weather Wizard.

“Question: what do you when you’re fighting someone who can predict where your lightning will strike? Answer: strike everywhere at once so it doesn’t matter!”

Previously serving as the gang’s getaway driver, Mark ‘Weather Wizard’ Mardon is a cruel and sadistic man who delights in torturing others for his own amusement. While he does not share Snart’s aversion to killing for killing’s sake, he does try to follow his leader’s code while on the job; out of a combination of respect for Snart and fear of Rory. In battle, Mardon’s signature weapon is a device he calls the Wizard’s Wand, which allows him to manipulate weather within a certain radius.

E4. Sam Scudder / Mirror Master.

“This is why you’re everyone’s least favorite Gem, Amethyst. You never think things through. All that power, all that effort, and you haven’t even laid a hand on me.”

Serving as the gang’s resident tech expert, Sam ‘Mirror Master’ Scudder is a hardened, but ultimately nonviolent member of the Rogues. Unlike his teammates, Scudder prefers to use trickery and misdirection as opposed to direct confrontation; which is why he often wins his fights without ever having to throw a punch. In battle, Scudder uses stolen technology built into his costume that allows him to access another dimension he calls the Mirror-Verse; essentially giving him the ability to disappear and reappear through any reflective surface.

E5. Roscoe Dillon / The Top.

“Well, well, Crystal Gems, once again it looks like you’re the bottom, while I’m the Top!”

Originally serving as the gang’s lookout, Roscoe ‘the Top’ Dillon is a man who gets way too much enjoyment out of being a supervillain. Whether its spouting ridiculous one-liners or using overly complicated moves in battle, there’s always a 100% chance that Dillon will do something to embarrass his fellow Rogues in front of the heroes. In battle, Dillon uses stolen technology built into his costume that allows him to spin at incredible speeds; essentially given him the ability to generate miniature tornadoes that he can control from within.

F. Other Villains.

The following list is for villains the Gems or the Rose Quartz Crusaders have fought more than once but do not belong to any specific group or organization.

F1. Doris Zeul / Giganta.

“What’s the matter little boy? I thought you liked giant women.”

Originally an employee at Beach City’s S.T.A.R. Labs facility, Dr. Doris Zeul fell in love with her colleague Dr. Ray Palmer, but became despondent when he expressed that he only wanted to be friends. After learning that Dr. Palmer had begun a relationship with the local mailwoman, Zeul’s despair became so great that she attempted to commit suicide by drinking a vile of experimental plant growth hormones; however, instead of killing her, the hormones gave Dr. Zeul the ability to increase her size while also increasing her strength and durability. Now calling herself Giganta, Dr. Zeul attempted to murder Dr. Palmer and his new girlfriend out of spite, but was quickly defeated by the Crystal Gems. After escaping from prison the first time, Giganta apparently got over her heartbreak and abandoned her plans for revenge in favor of a life of crime.

F2. Onomatopoeia.

“Meta-humans who become dependent on their powers are a disgrace to the species. That’s why the universe created me, to knock them down a peg or two and remind them just how weak they really are.”

No one knows who he is or where he came from, but what we do know is that the man known only as Onomatopoeia is not to be taken lightly. For reasons not yet fully understood, Onomatopoeia hunts down meta-humans and challenges them to fights with the intent of killing them; which he is often able to do because while does not seem to possess any powers himself, he has displayed a mastery of at least forty different styles if unarmed combat, as well as proficiency with at least sixty different types of weaponry. Onomatopoeia’s name comes from his odd habit of repeated sounds he hears around him.

F3. Brie Larvan / The Bug-Eyed Bandit.

“Forgive me for the cliché but… Bug off Crystal Gems!”

A gifted but misguided scientist, Dr. Brie Larvan was sent to prison for attempting to sell one of her inventions, a swam of remote-controlled robotic killer bees, to a group of Bialyian terrorists. After spending two years in prison, Larvan escaped and began using her robot bees to rob people, thus earing the good doctor her less than flattering moniker. Throughout her criminal career, the Bug-Eyed Bandit has clashed with a number of heroes; including the Crystal Gems, the Flash, and the Atom.

F4. Thrax / Marty Wurster.

“Revenge? On you? For what? Ditching me on the highway in the middle of thunderstorm just so you could be with some stupid chick? Oh, no, no, no Star-Child. I don’t wanna kill you for that. Compared with every other waking moment of my miserable life, your little tantrum was just a slap on the wrist!”

The bastard son of Ares, the God of War, and Hippolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, Thrax is an ancient demigod with a lot of issues. Having been disowned by his mother for being born a male, Thrax spent much of his early life spreading death and destruction as a means of paying tribute to his much more supportive father. However, as the world changed around him, Thrax found it difficult to adapt and began abusing his body in various ways just to cope. For a brief period in the late 20th Century, Thrax had a career in the music business under the alias Marty Wurster; unfortunately, this ended in disaster when his only client abandoned him in favor of starting a life with some woman. Recently, after learning of her existence, Thrax swore an oath of vengeance against his half-sister Diana, but luckily centuries of self-abuse have taken their toll, so he isn’t nearly as dangerous as he used to be.

A. Diamond Cutters.

“Extinction is the endgame, of course, but first we must make them suffer. Make them terrified of the thing they once belittled. Make them realize that their assumed superiority was nothing but a delusion. Only then will we allow them all to die.”

Fueled by over six thousand years’ worth of repressed hatred, the Diamond Cutters are a small but dangerous group of human extremists dedicated to bringing about the extinction of all Gem-kind. Originally, their leader, Vandal Savage, believed he could convince the Crystal Gems to join their cause, since they had already turned their backs on Homeworld during the rebellion. However, when Savage failed to sway them, the Cutters decided that if they wouldn’t help then they would die just like all the other Gems. Despite their small numbers, the Diamond Cutters are without a doubt the most fearsome foes the Crystal Gems have ever faced.

A1. Vandal Savage.

“Gems are all the same. Even those who would be our allies will never recognize us as equals. They’re just too damned arrogant. Oh well, if I cannot stand with them shoulder to shoulder, then I shall grind them all beneath my heel.”

The man currently known as Vandal Savage has been alive for over fifty thousand years, and in that time nothing has ever enraged him as much as the arrogance of Gem-kind. That is why, when it became that the Homeworld Gems would soon return, he decided that he would kill them before they could kill us. To that end, he scoured the globe for people with the skills and abilities to put Gem-kind in their place. Now with the Cutters by his side and an army under his command, Savage plans to strike a crippling blow to heart of Gem controlled space; proving once and for all that humanity is the true master race and that anyone who says different will be crushed.

A2. Yellow Diamond / Eve Savage.

“Indecent? Immoral? Against the Natural Order? Tell me Blue Diamond, how can you spout such drivel when our entire race sits on the brink of annihilation? While we sit here in stagnation, the universe produces more and more beings who make even we Diamonds look like common Pearls. If Gem-kind is to survive we must abandon our old ways of thinking and embrace a new mode of existence. But if you’re too shortsighted to accept this then perhaps you should be the first one to go!”

All her life, Yellow Diamond believed herself to be the most perfect being in all the universe; however, after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Green Lantern Mogo, she was forced recognize her own limitations. After learning about meta-humans and doing some hands-on research into the history of planet Earth, Yellow Diamond came to the conclusion that Gems are not the supreme beings they believe themselves to be and that humanity is destined to overtake them. Now viewing her own kind as weak and limited, Yellow Diamond has joined Savage in his quest to exterminate them. So great is her contempt for Gem-kind that recently, through a combination of Gem science and human sorcery, Yellow Diamond has transformed herself into human hybrid like Steven; except with an adult body and all of her memories intact. Taking on the name of the legendary mother of all humans, Eve Savage intends to forge a new empire; one in which Earth is at the center of the universe.

A3. Arthur King / Merlyn.

“Savage offered me a mint to eighty-six you Gems. But after what you did to me, I don’t him I’d do it for free.”

A former member of the League of Assassins and current number twelve on Interpol’s most wanted list, Arthur King is a hitman with archery skills equal to, if not greater than, those of the great Oliver Queen. Merlyn first met the Crystal Gems when they interfered with his assignment to kill Green Arrow, thus leading to a humiliating excommunication from the League. With his reputation in ruins, Arthur had no choice but to sell his services to low-level mob bosses just to get by. So when Savage approached him and offered him a chance at redemption, he couldn’t have signed up faster.

A4. Eobard Thawne / The Reverse-Flash.

“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to kill you Garnet. And now I suppose you never will.”

A renegade speedster from the 25th Century, Professor Eobard Thawne is as deranged as he is fast. Claiming to have some sort of personal vendetta against Garnet, Thawne was more than happy to lend his speed and expertise to Savage’s cause. Although, since his mind has become so warped, it is difficult to tell if his hatred for Garnet is real or merely a product of his imagination. Regardless, with his speed and surprising knowledge of Gem physiology, Thawne is a deadly addition to the Diamond Cutters.

A5. Barbara Ann Minerva / Cheetah.

“It doesn’t matter what you say! The fact is you were all created from the life-force stolen from other worlds! You’re parasites, every last one of you! You all deserve to die!”

Many years ago, British archeologist Barbara Ann Minerva discovered evidence of Homeworld’s plans to colonize the Earth while at a dig in South Africa; unfortunately, no one believed her at the time. Years later, when the Crystal Gems went public, Dr. Minerva became one of their loudest detractors, declaring that all Gems are parasites and that they cannot be trust; but again, she was largely ignored. Desperate to protect her world from what she perceived to be an ultimate evil, Dr. Minerva later joined Vandal Savage’s Diamond Cutters; originally just as a consultant. However, through means as of yet unknown, Dr. Minerva later had her DNA spliced with that of a cheetah, her favorite animal, giving her the speed, agility, and power for fight any Gem on equal footing.

A6. Sylbert Rundine / Dwarfstar.

“Tell me, little doughnut man, where do you want it? In the stomach? In the brain? I suppose if you want something really special, I could shrink down and carve out your eyes from the inside.”

When he first came to Beach City, Sylbert Rundine was nothing but a loathsome serial killer/rapist on the run from the law. However, after stealing Dr. Palmer’s size altering technology he became something much more dangerous. With his new powers Sylbert, now called Dwarfstar, has taken his mayhem to whole new levels; which is what earned him Savage’s attention in the first place. Having no personal grudges against the Gems or anyone else, Dwarfstar joined the Diamond Cutters for no reason other than his own amusement. It is worth noting that in addition to the technology he stole from Dr. Palmer, Dwarfstar’s signature weapon is a large hunting knife, which he uses to kill and/or torture all of his victims.

A7. Crystal Frost / Killer Frost.

“I don’t care who, but somebody’s gonna die!”

Originally a chemical engineering major at Hudson University, Crystal Frost was driven mad after a lab explosion accidentally endowed her with the power of cryokinesis. With her brain chemistry permanently altered beyond all recognition, Crystal, now calling herself Killer, went on a seven state murder spree that ended with her capture in Colorado. She spent two years of life sentence in the supermax wing of Belle Reve Penitentiary, until a freak power outage granted her the opportunity to escape. Frost resurfaced eighteen months later as a member of Vandal Savage’s Diamond Cutters; though the exact details of her initiation are as of yet unknown.

A8. William Hayes / Harm.

“Harm cares not for petty vendettas against shiny baubles. Harm cares only for his reward.”

At the age of twelve, young Billy Hayes murdered his younger sister Greta and both of his stepparents. At the age seventeen, Billy joined a satanic cult called the Church of Blood and legally changed his name to Harm. At the age of twenty-one, Harm became the most infamous serial killer in New York City’s history. And at the age of twenty-three, Harm joined forces with Vandal Savage and his Diamond Cutters; though the reasons why are shrouded in mystery.

A8.1. Buzz.

“Yes, my master. Your wish is my command… for now.”

Formerly one of the minor Dukes of Hell, Buzz now serves Harm as his unwilling demonic familiar. Captured and enslaved during his early days in the Church of Blood, Harm bound Buzz to his signature broadsword, which he can use to summon him anywhere at any time. Although Buzz has served Harm faithfully thus far, it is clear from his cryptic threats that he’d like nothing better than to rip his wretched soul to pieces.

A9. The Metal Men.

“Location: Beach City, New Jersey. Gem Energy Signatures Detected. Prime Directive Must Be Followed. Destroy All Gems.”

Cold and emotionless killing machines, the Metal Men are the Diamond Cutters’ seemingly unstoppable army of shapeshifting automatons. Created by scientist Will Magnus under threat of death, their primary function is to exterminate all Gem-based lifeforms in the universe; with the exception of Human-Gem hybrids such as the former Yellow Diamond. After being rescued, Magnus revealed that he had personally built over ten thousand while in captivity, but with his notes it is possible that the Cutters may have found a way to make more on their own.

A9.1. The Golds.

“Destroy!”

Gold-Type Metal Men, or Generals, are the rarest and most dangerous model of Metal Men in the Cutters’ arsenal. Programed with advanced AI, Golds are capable of formulating complex strategies in the heat of battle and relaying them to lesser models via electronic signals. Additionally, Golds can stretch their physical forms almost infinitely.

A9.2. The Irons.

“Destroy!”

Iron-Type Metal Men, or Foot Soldiers, are the most common model of Metal Men, but are also the ones with the most physical strength; each one capable of lifting a pickup truck with one hand.

A9.3. The Leads.

“Destroy!”

Lead-Type Metal Men, or Tanks, are the second most common model of Metal Men and often paired with teams of Irons. Because of their dense atomic structures, Leads are capable of deflecting most forms of energy by morphing into powerful shields.

A9.4. The Mercuries.

“Destroy!”

Mercury-Type Metal Men, or Saboteurs, are the third rarest model of Metal Men and are capable of liquefying and solidifying their bodies at will; making them invaluable for missions involving sabotage.

A9.5. The Platinums.

“Destroy!”

Platinum-Type Metal Men, or Shock Troopers, are the second rarest model Metal Men as well as the second most dangerous. Platinums are capable of stretching, flattening, and spinning their bodies into filaments, which makes them a real handful in battle.

A9.6. The Tins.

“Destroy!”

Tin-Type Metal Men, or Infiltrators, are the third most common model of Metal Men as well as the weakest. However, with their small size and versatile shapeshifting capabilities, Tins are invaluable for missions that require espionage.

B. Appellaxians.

“Four may enter, but only one can reign supreme!”

Hailing from the distant planet Kalar in the Andromeda Galaxy, the Appellaxians are a powerful race of energy-beings who can create host bodies for themselves from the natural elements around them. Once every five thousand years, four Appellaxians are chosen by the high council take part in a battle royal to decide who will become the next leader of Kalar. According to tradition, the battle must be fought on a neutral planet, and this time around the council has selected Earth. Which wouldn’t be a problem, except Appellaxians have a tendency to destroy the planets they fight on. So, you can see why the Gems wouldn’t want them to hang around.

B1. The Wood King.

“Five against one? The epitome of bad form!”

The Wood King is the name given to an Appelaxian who landed on Earth in a forest and formed a body from the surrounding trees. He claims to be a general on his home planet and behaves very much like one in combat. He appears to have the ability to control various forms of plant life and can regenerate parts of his body when they are damaged.

B2. The Stone God.

“It’s nothing personal, little Gem creatures. It’s just that your world just happens to be in our way.”

The Stone God is the name given to an Appelaxian who landed on Earth in a mountain range and formed a body from the surrounding rock. He claims to be a teacher on his home planet and often spouts lines of philosophy when in battle. In terms of physical power, he is easily the strongest of the four combatants, and he also possesses the ability to manipulate various forms of earth; including sand and lava.

B3. The Crystal Creature.

“Wait… what where we talking about again?”

The Crystal Creature is the name given to an Appelaxian who landed on Earth in a quartz mine and formed a body from the surrounding crystals. He acts very aloof most of the time and seems easily distracted. However, when he is focused, he can manipulate the atomic structure of his crystalline body to turn sunlight into laser beams and generate sonic blasts.

B4. The Golden Roc.

“Insolent Gems! For this affront I shall crush you! Insects! Beetles! Worms that you are!”

The Golden Roc is the name given to an Appelaxian who landed on Earth in a gold depository and formed a body out of the surrounding bars. He is apparently the youngest of the four combatants and behaves very much like a petulant child. His vaguely birdlike body grants him the power flight, as well as the ability to fire energy blasts from his ‘eye’.

C. Dark Circle.

“Hoc faciunt qui maledixit diem tenebris circuli!”

Composed of three of the most powerful dark sorcerers alive today, the Dark Circle is a secret society dedicated to attaining new levels of magical power by any means necessary. Since its inception in the early 2000s, the Circle has taken part in a multitude of illicit supernatural capers; including the desecration of Westley Dodds’ grave and the theft of Destiny’s Cosmic Log. In recent months, the Circle has made enemies of the amateur sorceress Priyanka Maheswaran and her disembodied familiar Boston Brand; who, despite their inexperience, have caused the group nothing but grief.

C1. Felix Faust.

“Do you honestly believe that can stop me, child? I’m Felix Faust, the greatest sorcerer in the world, and you’re just an amateur who talks to herself.”

Founder of the Dark Circle and arguably Priyanka’s archenemy, Felix Faust is a sorcerer with over one hundred years’ worth of experience and the body of a thirty-five-year-old. This is because, according to legend, sometime in the 1920s, Felix cut a deal with the Demons Three in order to gain eternal youth; no one knows what he supposedly gave them in exchange, but apparently it was nothing he missed. At any rate, Felix’s M.O. has always been about acquiring dangerous or forbidden knowledge and forming the Dark Circle was likely just another means to that end. However, that is not to say he intends to just sit back and let some beginner ruin everything he and his associates have worked so hard for.

C2. Tala.

“You’re still a little too green for my tastes, darling. Come back when you’ve gotten a few decades under your belt and then we’ll see if you’re worth the effort.”

At this time, very little is known about the dark sorceress who calls herself Tala, save for a few minor details. Firstly, judging from her accent, Tala is likely a native of Eastern Europe; most likely the Czech Republic. Secondly, although she appears to be in her late twenties to early thirties, Tala claims to have known people like Josef Mengele and Quintin Turnbull personally; which would make her at least two hundred years old. Lastly, although she is a primary antagonist of Doc M and the Deadman, Tala seems to know a great deal about Gems; particularly how to kill them. Draw your own conclusions.

C3. Blackbriar Thorn.

“Rise, O Children of the Forest! Rise and strike down this Daughter of the Dark Continent!”

In ancient times, Blackbriar Thorn was a Druid High Priest who escaped a gruesome death at the hands of invading Roman forces by transforming himself into a tree. For millennia Thorn slept peacefully within his arboreal cocoon, until 1968 when the tree was finally cut down; releasing his vengeful spirit. Reborn as a strange human-plant hybrid, Thorn spent the next several decades wandering the Earth in search of a new sect to call his own, occasionally stopping to perform some kind of profane ritual or murder someone for his own amusement, until finally he met Felix Faust and joined his Dark Circle. In his plant form, Thorn possesses a number of unnatural powers, including self-regeneration and the ability to summon sentient plant-creatures to act as his protectors.

  • Watching: Star Trek The Next Generation

For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been working on an AU for a while, which combines the Steven Universe universe with that of DC Comics. To that end, I have crafted this outline for all of the major characters. I’ve done this twice before but this time I feel that this is the final version. Naturally, because I am blending two separate universes, certain things had to be changed or altered to accommodate other elements. Please keep this in mind as you read and enjoy.

I. Heroes.

A. Crystal Gems.

“I guess you didn’t get the memo. See, we’re the Crystal Gems, and we always find a way.”

Over six thousand years ago, the Crystal Gems swore an oath to protect humanity from the tyranny of the Diamond Authority. However, due to the recent surge in meta-human criminal activities, the last surviving members of this once powerful army have been forced to broaden their definition of protecting humanity. Which, consequently, means their existence is much more common knowledge than they would prefer. While not at the same level of notoriety as the likes of Superman or Batman, the Gems have quickly become local celebrities in their hometown of Beach City, New Jersey; as well as the surrounding counties.

A1. Steven Universe.

“Crystal Gems Forever!”

The hybrid child of former Crystal Gem leader Rose Quartz and former smalltime rock musician Greg Universe, Steven Quartz Universe is the face of the Crystal Gems. While not as powerful or experienced as the other Gems, Steven is an essential member of the team for two very important reasons. One: because of his status as a hybrid, he serves as the bridge between human and Gem-kind. And Two: his kindness and capacity for mercy serve as a constant reminder to the Gems as to why they chose humanity over their own kind. His weapon is a shield that once belonged to his mother, which possesses both defensive and offensive capabilities.

A1.1. Lion.

“ROAR!”

From and made of parts unknown, Lion is Steven’s semi-loyal pet and familiar. While his origins and motives are as of yet a mystery, Lion has come through for the Gems on multiple occasions and has more than earned their trust. While Lion has no weapon, he does possess the ability to warp across long distances as well as a pocket dimension within his mane that the Gems use for storage.

A2. Garnet.

“I’m not sure if I’m really cut out for this superhero thing. But not just gonna sit back and let you punks wreck my town!”

The wisest and most powerful member of the Crystal Gems, Garnet serves as the de facto leader of the team. As a fusion of the Gems Ruby and Sapphire, her existence was considered perverse and deviant by traditionalist Gems, which is why she chose fight under Rose Quartz, who saw her as unique and beautiful. While she hides it well, Garnet is incredibly uncomfortable with her new status as a ‘superhero’ and longs for things to return to the way they used to be. However, for the good of the team, she puts on a brave front and tries to live up to the ideals of her new human allies. Her weapons are a pair of ultra-power gauntlets which allow her to smash through almost any obstacle.

A3. Amethyst.

“You call that an attack? Please, I’ve had hot sauce with more kick than your wimpy lightning bolts Mardon.”

As the only Crystal Gem to be ‘born’ on Earth, Amethyst has no preexisting conceptions on non-Gem lifeforms, and therefore behaves, for the most part, just like a normal human. Because of this, she was the first Crystal Gem besides Steven to fully embrace the idea of being viewed as a superhero by the people of Beach City. Unfortunately, her multitude of ‘vices’ and ‘bad habits’ make her an extremely poor role model; much to the annoyance of her fellow Gems, especially Pearl. Her weapon is a whip capable of slicing through most materials.

A4. Pearl.

“Me? In love with a human? Don’t be ridiculous. Cisco and I are friends, that’s all. Honestly Steven, where do you such silly ideas?”

Arguably the swiftest and most graceful member of the Crystal Gems, Pearl often serves as the team’s de facto second-in-command. Despite being initially opposed to idea of the Gems being ‘superheroes’, she has since changed her tune and vowed to serve as an upstanding role model for young children; an obvious reaction to Amethyst’s ‘disgraceful’ behavior in public. To that end, she has become more active in her community and even managed to get herself an honorary internship at S.T.A.R. Labs, where she works very closely with her new friend Cisco Ramon. Her primary weapon is a spear, but she has also been known to fight with swords when necessary.

A5. Lapis Lazuli.

“Alright, listen up you Human-Cockroaches! Tell me what you’ve done with Steven or you’re all gonna find out what it’s like to drown in orbit!”

After being imprisoned in a mirror for over five thousand years, Lapis developed a powerful hatred for both the Crystal Gems and the Earth. However, thanks to the compassion and understanding of Steven, she has learned to let go of her anger and has come to embrace the Earth as her new home. Although she initially only joined the Crystal Gems out of her fondness for Steven, Lapis has become quite close with the other members of the team; especially Garnet and Jasper. While she possesses no weapon, Lapis’ gem grants her the powers of hydrokinesis and flight; which make her more than a match for most meta-humans.

A6. Peridot.

“Die metal scum! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!”

Originally a Homeworld loyalist, Peridot joined the Crystal Gems out of desperation when it became apparent that her master, Yellow Diamond, had gone insane. Despite abandoning everything she had ever believed in and being branded a traitor to her own kind, Peridot has taken to her new role as a Crystal Gem surprisingly well; even managing to make friends with a few of the local humans, like Ronaldo Fryman. Since she is a technician and not a warrior, Peridot rarely goes out into the field and often acts as mission coordinator from the safety of her room in the Temple. As a nonfighting Gem, Peridot lacks the ability to summon a weapon, but her prosthetic limbs contain a wide range of tools that are quite useful in most situations.

A7. Jasper.

“I gotta admit, Earth’s a lot more fun now that humans can actually hit back.”

Like Peridot, Jasper was originally a loyalist Gem who only joined Steven and the others to save her own neck; however, since then she has become a welcome and invaluable member of the team. As an elite warrior class Gem, Jasper possesses incredible physical strength that is outmatched only by Garnet, and even then only by a small margin. Despite her willingness to work with the other Gems, Jasper becomes irritable whenever one of them tries to tell her what to do in a fight; the only exception being Steven, whom she has affectionately dubbed her ‘Little Buddy’. Aside from her bare hands, Jasper’s primary weapon is a pompadour-shaped battle helmet that can also function as a battering ram.

B. Rose Quartz Crusaders.

“I know you have your own way of doing things. And I know you’re not use to asking for help. But your world is a lot more complicated than it used to be. And now that more people know about you, there’s no telling what kind of sickos are gonna start coming after you. So if you ever get in over your head, give us a call and we’ll come running.”

Sometimes referred to as the Crystal Reserves, the Rose Quartz Crusaders are humans with extraordinary skills or abilities that the Gems can call upon whenever they need backup. Despite their dramatic sounding name, the Crusaders are not technically a team, since most of the time the individual members work on their own. So to be completely accurate, a Rose Quartz Crusader refers to any human, meta or otherwise, who has befriended one or more of the Gems and can be trusted to assist them when and if they ever find themselves in a situation that is too much for them to handle on their own. In order insure that everyone stays in contact, Peridot took it upon herself to build special communication devices for each of the Crusaders; which Steven has playfully dubbed ‘G-Phones’.

B1. Connie Maheswaran.

“I may not be as strong or as fast as some of you, but I’m still a Crusader!”

Arguably the original Rose Quartz Crusader, Connie Maheswaran is a young girl of rare quality. Having been initially introduced into the world of Gems through her friendship with Steven, Connie has gone from being a mere observer to an honorary Crystal Gem. Thanks to her training with Pearl, Connie is on the path to becoming a great sword master, and has even earned the right to wield Rose Quartz’ legendary blade. Despite being only twelve years old, Connie’s mother has given her permission to accompany the Gems on some of their missions; on the condition that she maintain her grade point average and never mention a word of this to her father.

B2. Oliver Queen / Green Arrow.

“Believe it or not, I do know what it’s like to have the weight of the world on my shoulders.”

Billionaire philanthropist and arrow toting vigilante Oliver Queen first met the Crystal Gems when an altercation with the League of Assassins accidentally spilled into Beach City and they were forced to intervene. Since then, Oliver has been a close friend of the Universe Clan and has done everything within his power to repay them for getting him out of such a close shave. Everything from inviting them to stay at his penthouse in Star City to bankrolling the construction of a S.T.A.R. Labs facility in Beach City in order to give his friends’ hometown a new source of revenue. Because of his seemingly boundless generosity, many Beach City residents, including Steven, have taken to calling him ‘Rich Uncle Oliver’; which he seems to find flattering.

B3. Barry Allen / The Flash.

“Actually, I’m a little jealous. I mean, you’re the embodiment of true love, and I’m just some guy who was struck by lightning.”

The fastest man alive, Barry Allen first met Steven Universe while working on a case for the CCPD in Beach City regarding an escapee from Iron Heights. Despite their age difference, the two became fast friends, pardon the pun, and kept in touch with each other long after the investigation was over. Loyal, kind, and compassionate to a fault, Barry seems to embody the very spirit of humanity that Rose fought so hard to protect those countless ages ago. Which is why the Gems are always glad to have him by their side; in good times and bad.

B4. Mari McCabe / Vixen.

“What can I say? I love a man who’s in touch with his feelings.”

Empowered by the ancient Tantu Totem. Mari McCabe is an up-and-coming fashion designer from Coast City who can mimic the abilities of any animal that has ever existed on the planet Earth. One day, while perusing an online dating site, she came across a profile that piqued her interests, one belonging to a Mr. Greg Universe, and decided to ask him out. At first Greg wasn’t all that interested in her, still carrying a torch for his lost lover Rose, but after witnessing her takedown three muggers with her bare hands he quickly reconsidered his position. Since then, Mari and Greg have become quite the couple, despite their age difference and the fact that they live in different cities. When asked what she sees in a guy like Greg, Mari cheerfully replies ‘He makes me laugh.’

B5. Ray Palmer / The Atom.

“I’m a people person, I can’t help it. Whenever I see someone new, I just have to make them feel welcome. That’s why people love me, ain’t that right Barbie Girl?”

Brilliant physicist Dr. Ray Palmer first moved to Beach City after landing his dream job at the newly opened S.T.A.R. Labs facility, where he developed his patented size altering technology. Always the social butterfly, Ray quickly became friends with many of the Beach City regulars, including local mailwoman Barb Miller, who would later become his girlfriend. After perfecting his technology, Barb convinced Ray that the best way to promote it was to use it to fight crime; rationalizing that in this day and age, nobody gets more attention than superheroes. Thinking that was a brilliant idea, Ray soon took on the mantle of his boyhood hero Albert Pratt and became the Atom. It is worth noting that, unlike the others, Ray asked the Gems to make him a Crusader instead of being invited because he wanted to help protect his new home and family.

B6. Cisco Ramon / Vibe.

“You ain’t seen nothin’ yet, Pearlie. I’m just getting’ warmed up.”

Like Dr. Palmer, talented engineer Cisco Ramon also moved to Beach City in order to work at the new S.T.A.R. Labs facility. While exploring his new home one day in search of some decent fast food, Cisco happened to bump into Pearl and, despite their many differences, the two managed to bond over their mutual passion of engineering. Since then, they’ve been practically inseparable; always working together on new and interesting projects. And after a lab accident gave him the ability to manipulate soundwaves, they started spending even more time together protecting Beach City from those who would do it harm. Amethyst likes to tease Pearl by calling Cisco her boyfriend, but their relationship is strictly platonic.

B7. Priyanka Maheswaran / Doc M.

“If anything happens to my daughter, you Gem will be begging for Savage and his Cutters to finish you off.”

After a car accident cost her the use of her hands, gifted heart surgeon Dr. Priyanka Maheswaran searched the world for a means to restore them. While in Tibet, she met a man named John Constantine who turned her on the ways of sorcery and the occult. After finally regaining the use of her hands, instead of going back to work at the hospital, Priyanka decided to follow in the footsteps of her master and began investigating the supernatural. Despite her inexperience, Priyanka has already earned the attention of several otherworldly entities; including the Triumvirate of Hell, the Demons Three, and the Endless. Although she is willing to work with the Gems if she has to, Priyanka does not socialize with them like the other Crusaders because she finds them ‘frustrating’ even at the best of times.

B7.1. Boston Brand / Deadman.

“You kept going when everyone else had given up. You wept while everyone else kept a straight face. You gave a dying man the peace pf mind to know that somebody cared about him. And you still don’t see what makes you a hero?”

The ghost of a former patient, Boston Brand serves as Priyanka’s faithful and devoted assistant/familiar. In addition to being her invisible eyes and ears, Boston also has the ability to possess living things, which has come in handy on multiple occasions. Although Boston has forgiven her for not being able to save his life all those years ago, Priyanka still carries a lot of guilt and has even offered to help him find his murderer. It is worth noting that, because of the strong emotional connection formed on his deathbed, Priyanka is the only person who can see or hear Boston, which leads most people, and Gems, to assume that she is just insane. But of course, people like Connie and Garnet know better.

C. Other Heroes.

The following list is for heroes whom the Gems or the Crusaders have met but for whatever reasons have chosen not to become Crusaders themselves.

C1. Diana / Wonder Woman.

“The World of Man is much stranger than I imagined. Better, but so much stranger.”

When Princess Diana of Themyscira first came to the World of Man, she had numerous preconceptions about what to expect. However, after meeting Steven and the Crystal Gems she was forced to abandon most of them. After their initial meeting, Diana chose to stay in Beach City about month; during which she learned many fascinating things about the outside world from her new friends. When it came time for her to move on, Steven offered her the chance to become a Rose Quartz Crusader, but Diana politely declined; stating that she believes she is fated for a different path.

C2. Will Magnus.

“Those animals turned my life’s work into a weapon for their mad crusade. I don’t care what it takes, just make them pay.”

The world’s leading expert on robotics, Dr. Will Magnus’ career was almost cut short when he was kidnapped by the extremist group known as the Diamond Cutters. For months he worked under threat of death to build them an unstoppable army war machines, the Metal Men, and although he was eventually rescued by the Gems, the experience still left him quite traumatized. Sometime later, Magnus dropped off the grid completely, but not before vowing to somehow make up for the evil he unwillingly unleashed upon the universe.

C3. Rip Hunter.

“Ah, the Gem Temple, this takes me back. Or is it forward? Amethyst, refresh my memory, do we know eachother?”

Hailing from the 64th Century, Rip Hunter is a roguish, swashbuckling time traveler with a lust for adventure and a penchant for trouble. When the Gems first met him, Rip claimed to already know all of them from his own time and even professed to being a future member of the Rose Quartz Crusaders. Though the laws of space-time prevented him from revealing anything else.

C4. John Constantine.

“I’m not going to censor myself Priyanka. So you, your daughter, and her pudgy little boyfriend had best learn to deal with it.”

Arguably one of the most unpleasant human beings currently living, John Constantine is a foulmouthed, cynical, disillusioned master of the occult who seems to be physically addicted to dangerous situations; among other things. With the exception of people like Priyanka and Boston, John seems to find most people, even the Gems, to be mundane and therefore not worth his time. However, despite his many character flaws, John is known for getting results when it comes to dealing with supernatural threats, so I suppose that counts for something.

Thank you for supporting me for more than a year! I  have noted you a special gift which I hope you have liked for be-friending me AND staying on as friends on DA! All my watchers who keep the friendship alive get it as standard for being awesome and kick-tastic for being true and blue! 0w0

Alsoa gentle reminder ,if you could be so kind, I have another journal entry Out of This World   which I think might interest you! Have a wonderful day and thanks again! 0v0
